President Donald Trump went to France over the weekend for commemoration ceremonies remembering World War I. He was unable to attend one event at a ceremony near Belleau Wood because they didn’t want to take up a helicopter in the weather and because of the logistics with his delegation. That became the attack point of the weekend by the liberal media and those on the left. Former Secretary of State John Kerry attacked Trump over it, but was reminded of his own, real shortcomings by Greg Gutfeld.
From Daily Caller:
“President @realDonaldTrump a no-show because of raindrops?” Kerry tweeted. “Those veterans the president didn’t bother to honor fought in the rain, in the mud, in the snow – & many died in trenches for the cause of freedom. Rain didn’t stop them & it shouldn’t have stopped an American president.”
But Gutfeld wasn’t letting that nonsense go.
“U didn’t stop ISIS. you sent James Taylor. Plug your knothole, Captain Driftwood,” Gutfeld tweeted, likely referencing the “Swift Boat” controversy that plagued Kerry during his 2004 run for the presidency.
That, of course, triggered Kerry, who called Gutfeld a “fool.”
“Happy Veterans Day, Greg,” tweeted Kerry along with the hashtag #freedomisntfree. “I’m glad that all of us who served in uniform fought to defend your freedom to be a complete fool on Twitter.”
Gutfeld then posted a James Tayor “You’ve got a friend” link.
Gutfeld was also referencing the completely embarrassing moment when the U.S. under Barack Obama and Kerry refused to send representation after the Charlie Hebdo and kosher store massacres to a solidarity march with world leaders to call out terrorism. Forty world leaders marched, but Barack Obama was glaringly missing.
Kerry later tried to smooth over the snub by bringing James Taylor to sing “You’ve got a friend.”
Kerry has some nerve to try to speak for American service members when he infamously attacked them in his anti-war Congressional testimony in 1971, saying it was a normal day to day practice that Americans service members were raping and murdering people.
And that it was Obama who eviscerated the military over the years of his administration, taking away needed money which may have resulted in deaths, versus Trump who has restored it to build our defense and protect our soldiers.Note: The author of this article has included commentary that expresses an opinion and analysis of the facts.
